This article focuses on the key metrics that you need to monitor subscription growth, orders, and revenue effectively.

After reading this article, you will understand how to access and interpret key performance metrics, enabling them to make informed decisions to optimize your subscription models and drive growth and profitability.

Access QuickSub Analytics Page



You can access through the QuickSub Dashboard, then choose Analytics. From there, you can filter data by date ranges and view comprehensive reports of Subscriptions, Orders, Revenue and Churn.

Overview



In Overview Tab, you can view the data of New Subscriptions, Active Subscriptions, Paused Subscriptions, and Cancelled Subscriptions.

You can select the date range to view the data on the day you choose.

Active subscription growth: You can see the number of active subscription changes from the start to the end of selected date range.

Total Active Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were active at the end of the date range.

Total Paused Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were paused within the selected date range.

Total Cancelled Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were canceled within the selected date range.

Compare Data



Besides, you can select the option to compare the data with the previous period or choose no comparison.

Subscriptions



In Subscriptions Tab, you can view the data of Active Subscriptions, Paused Subscriptions, Cancelled Subscriptions, Voluntary cancellation, Involuntary cancellation.

You can select the date range to view the data on the day you choose.

Active Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were active at the end of the date range.

Paused Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were paused within the selected date range.

Cancelled Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were cancelled within the selected date range.

Voluntary Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were cancelled by the customers within the selected date range.

Involuntary Subscriptions: Subscriptions that were cancelled by the merchant or system within the selected date range.

From the Subscription Tab, you can view the data of all types of subscriptions. In addition, you can see the detailed information of each type by clicking “View Report”.

In here, you can see all information of the subscriptions such as ID, Customer name, Status, Delivery Interval, Billing Interval, Next order and Subtotal.

When you click to the subscription, it will direct you to the Subscription Details Page, which shows all detailed information about the subscription.

After that, when you need to export all the active subscriptions in the selected date range, you can choose Export to export it to CSV File.

Compare Data



Besides, you can select the option to compare the data with the previous period or choose no comparison.

Orders



In Orders Tab, you can view the Total Orders, First-time Orders, Recurring Orders, Average Order Value and Estimated Upcoming Orders.

Total Orders: Number of orders placed within the selected date range, calculated by total of first-time and recurring orders during the reporting period.

First-time orders: Number of first-time orders placed within the selected date range

Recurring Orders: Number of recurring orders placed within the selected date range

Average Order Value: Revenue generated from orders created in the selected date range divided by the number of orders created in the selected date range.

Estimated Upcoming Orders: Expected orders in the next 7, 30, or 90 days based on active subscriptions.



Compare Data



Similarly to the Subscriptions, you can compare the data with the previous period by selecting Compare - Previous period.

Revenue



In Revenue Tab, you can view the Total Revenue, First-Time Order Revenue, Recurring Order Revenue and Estimated Upcoming Revenue.

Total Revenue: Revenue from all orders in the selected period.

First-Time Order Revenue: Revenue generated from first-time orders.

Recurring Order Revenue: Revenue generated from recurring orders.

Estimated Upcoming Revenue: Projected revenue from upcoming orders in the next 7, 30, or 90 days.

Compare Data



Similarly to the Subscriptions and Orders Tab, you can compare the data with the previous period by selecting Compare - Previous period.

Churn



In Churn Tab, you can view the Overall average churn rate, Average voluntary churn rate, Average involuntary churn rate, Average churn by type, Revenue lost by average churn, Top reasons for pause, Top reasons for voluntary cancellation, Top reasons for involuntary cancellation.

Overall average churn rate: Percentage of subscriptions cancelled relative to an averaged subscription count when there are mid-period activations or cancellations.

Overall average churn rate is calculated as:
Overall average churn rate = (Total cancelled subscriptions during the period / ((Subscriptions at start + Subscriptions at end) / 2)) x 100%

Average voluntary churn rate: Percentage of subscriptions cancelled by customers, relative to an averaged subscription count.

Average voluntary churn rate is calculated as:
Average voluntary churn rate = Total voluntary cancellations / ((Start-of-period subscriptions + End-of-period subscriptions) / 2)) x 100%

Average involuntary voluntary churn rate: Percentage of subscriptions cancelled by merchants or system, relative to an averaged subscription count.

Average involuntary churn rate is calculated as:
Average involuntary churn rate = Total involuntary cancellations / ((Start-of-period subscriptions + End-of-period subscriptions) / 2)) x 100%

Average churn by type: Cancellation types and number of subscriptions came from each type.

Cancelled subscription is calculated as:
Cancelled subscriptions = Subscriptions of voluntary cancellations + Subscriptions of involuntary cancellations

Revenue lost by average churn: Revenue lost to cancellations within the selected date range.
Eg: Cancelling a subscription which costs $20 per month means revenue lost is $20.

Top reasons for pause: 3 most common reasons for pause and how many each reason was selected, including mid-period activations and cancellations.

Top reasons for voluntary cancellation: 3 most common reasons for customers’ cancellation, and how many times each reason was selected, including mid-period activations and cancellations.

Top reasons for involuntary cancellation: 3 most common reasons for merchants or system’s cancellation, and how many times each reason was selected, including mid-period activations and cancellations.

Compare Data



Similarly to the Subscriptions, Orders and Revenue Tab, you can compare the data with the previous period by selecting Compare - Previous period.

Simple Use Case: A merchant reviewing subscriptions for the last 30 days to analyze growth.

Complex Use Case: A merchant wanting to assess the performance of both first-time and recurring orders for the past year may find additional guidance here.

Frequently Asked Questions



What is the difference between "New Subscriptions" and "Active Subscriptions"?
"New Subscriptions" refers to the number of subscriptions created within a specific date range. "Active Subscriptions" are subscriptions that were still active at the end of the selected date range.

What is the difference between "Total Orders" and "Successful Recurring Orders"?
"Total Orders" includes both first-time and successful recurring orders. "Successful Recurring Orders" refers only to orders that were successfully processed as part of a recurring subscription.
